Main aim of the book is to enable Doctors and Cardiologists to talk and write about the HEART in English. The book develops circularly starting with the ‘article’ as a language item, and ending with the laying out of a scientific ‘article’. The book, in which any language structure is set in a professional context, unfolds through three graded steps of difficulty, each dealing in turn with the three main points of interest for any Doctor: the first section, History-taking at Intermediate Level, is on the approach with the patient; the second step, Advanced Level, proceeds with Examination and Instrumental Investigations, reaching preventive measures against Heart Disease and recovery methods through implantable electronic equipment; finally in the third section, Proficiency Level, Doctors will learn how to give a presentation in conference and to write and lay out a scientific article. This is also a ‘self-study’ tool as most answers are provided in the Answer Key at the end of the book.
