The work is organized into eleven disease categories with specific indications for therapy. Detailed guidelines for the application and preparation of herbal remedies, a hallmark of all previous editions, have been enhanced in this new edition.
First published in 1960 by Rudolf Weiss and later coauthored with Volker Fintelmann, both of whom were appointed members of the landmark German Commission E, the work undertakes a critical appraisal of age-old and new remedies, and their utility in the spectrum of total patient care.
The more recent addition of Kenny Kuchta to the authorship brings a valuable scientific pharmaceutical perspective to this classic work.
